The pathogen and the disease it causes have devastated the world's health systems and profoundly affected many countries' economies. Due to this prolific spread, a pandemic was declared by the World Health Organization. A novel SARS-CoV-2 was reported as the etiological agent of COVID-19 in December 2019 and transmitted around the world with unprecedented speed. ![]()
